The rapper and his business partner have filed a lawsuit claiming the Qatari government invested in Cube’s basketball league to gain access to Bannon.
Here’s two names you probably didn’t expect to see sharing a headline: Hip-hop legend Ice Cube and former Trump strategist Steve Bannon. According to a bizarre new story from The Daily Mail, a $1.2 billion lawsuit filed by Cube and his business partner, Jeff Kwatinetz, alleges that the Qatari government sought to bribe Bannon via the duo after investing in Ice Cube’s basketball league, BIG3. Kwatinetz, court documents reveal, calls Bannon a former colleague and personal friend.
The story goes something like this: Last year, Ahmed al Rumaihi, a member of the Qatari royal family, agreed to invest $20.5 million in BIG3, but ended up dodging calls after ponying up only $7.5 million. When Cube and Kwatinetz tried to get the rest of the money, al Rumaihi began “persistently inquir[ing] about wanting to meet with Mr. Bannon,” who was, at the time, still Trump’s chief strategist. His efforts appeared to intensify after Bannon left both the White House and, later, the alt-right news site Breitbart, the latter of which found him losing the financial backing of hedge fund billionaire Robert Mercer.
In the lawsuit, Kwatinetz claims that al Rumaihi asked him to set up a meeting with Bannon so that the Qatari could “convey a message from the Qatari Government to Steve Bannon.”
He continues, “Mr. Al-Rumaihi requested I set up a meeting between him, the Qatari government, and Steven Bannon, and to tell Steve Bannon that Qatar would underwrite all of his political efforts in return for his support.”
When Kwatinetz refused to play ball, al Rumaihi allegedly “laughed and then stated to me that I shouldn’t be naive, that so many Washington politicians take our money.” al Rumaihi then stated, “Do you think [Michael] Flynn turned down our money?” Flynn, if you recall, was Trump’s National Security Advisor before being fired, pleading guilty to lying to the FBI, and making a plea deal with Special Counsel Robert Mueller.
The $1.2 billion lawsuit was filed last month and the Qatari investors are counter-suing claiming libel and demanding the case be moved to a federal court.

The important part here is Flynn, once again, taking money without FARA registration while worlking as a NSA advisor.

“The Ontario Human Rights Tribunal has
ordered a Chinese restaurant in downtown Toronto to pay a black man
$10,000 as compensation for a rights violation after it required him and
three black companions to prepay for their meals.
In
May, 2014, Emile Wickham went to Hong Shing Chinese Restaurant, a
popular establishment just east of Toronto’s Chinatown, for a late-night
birthday dinner with friends. After the server took their order, he
told the group they would need to pay for their meals in full before
receiving them, according to testimony Mr. Wickham gave at the April
tribunal hearing. They questioned the server, who explained this was
restaurant policy, and they obliged.
But
Mr. Wickham was unsettled by this. Realizing he and his companions were
the only black people in the restaurant, he approached other diners to
ask if they’d been required to prepay and all said no.
Mr. Wickham said the experience has made
him question the popular narrative that big cities like Toronto are
harmonious multicultural havens. ‘I
feel a lot of Canadians feel like because they don’t say the N-word or
they have that black colleague or they like to eat Jamaican food and
know about roti and doubles they think they’re not racist’, Mr. Wickham
said.’’

PLEASE read this article. I have been saying this forever. Republican voter suppression is wayyy more of a danger to freedom and democracy than some targeted Facebook ads from Russia.
Russia didn’t stop votes from being counted in Florida when George W. Bush stole the election in 2000.
Russia didn’t gut the Voting Rights Act.
Russia didn’t make SCOTUS legalize Citizens United, making it easier for super PACS and secret money from billionaire conservatives to influence election outcomes.
Russia didn’t close down voting places in black communities, poor neighborhoods and nearby college campuses.
Russia didn’t create the Electoral College, which has it’s origins in slave states maintaining white supremacy.
Russia isn’t forcing us to use outdated, privately owned machines that run on Internet Explorer and leave no paper trail, making it easier to falsify election results.
Russia didn’t pass scores of voter ID laws and then immediately close down driver’s license offices close to predominantly poor black neighborhoods.
Russia doesn’t use purge lists to remove voters with common “black surnames” from our voter rolls, even though they’re legally registered and eligible to vote.
Russia hasn’t systematically used mass incarceration as a means of preventing black people from voting since Reconstruction.
Russia hasn’t gerrymandered our voting districts so that conservative politicians can get millions less votes than Democrats, but still win House races anyway.
And Russia hasn’t passed countless other laws that have disenfranchised generations of black and brown voters in the US – the GOP did all of that. Republicans are the clear and present danger here. Republicans are the existential threat to our democracy.
YES, Donald Trump absolutely needs to be impeached and arrested for colluding with a foreign power to win the election. Yes, we need to make sure that another nation can’t interfere in our elections. And yes, Vladimir Putin—who
is possibly a bigger homophobe than even Mike Pence—is definitely manipulating Trump. But OMG, please let’s address all of the obvious problems in our own backyard before we focus all our time and energy on Russia “hacking” the last election. Maybe let’s try doing that first.

He was referencing the highly acclaimed shift towards a comedic, self-referential tone he and Taika made with Ragnarok.
But instead of observing his request to keep the character’s newfound mojo alive, the Russo brothers reportedly told him they’d ‘reinvented’ the character once again.
Chris recalled his response: ‘I was like “no, no, no” and I was really protective of what I’d created with Taika.’
They explained that the new direction was in line with the higher-stakes of the Avengers film, and to ensure the character worked well in an ensemble cast.
Ava DuVernay’s next project will see her directing New Gods for WB/DC.
The move will make her the 5th woman to direct a major superhero movie (after director Lexi Alexander (Punisher: War Zone), Patty Jenkins (Wonder Woman), Anna Boden (co-directing Captain Marel with Ryan Fleck) and Gina Prince-Bythewood (Silver & Black).
DuVernay will also be the 2nd black woman (following Gina Prince-Bythewood) and 3rd woman of colour (after Lexi Alexander and Prince-Bythewood) to direct a superhero movie for a major studio.
