“Oliver Peoples, really cool brand that I like. So it’s always like elevated, clean looks. Um, I love gold… [imitates Goldmember] ‘I love gold! Gold!’ But I’m also really rough… with my glasses. I sit on ‘em, I’ll fall asleep in my glasses… Maybe [I should get] plastic glasses! [chuckles]” [x]

And there goes the drabble senses again…let’s say this is our favorite CIA analyst.

It’s been two weeks since Jack left for Morocco and I have not heard from him, leaving me fearing the worst. While I was reading to take my mind off of the worst, my iPad starting ringing.

“Hey there gorgeous.” And there he was, alive and handsome as ever. I never felt so relieved.

“Jack.” I ran my hand across the screen gently. “You’re ok.”

“Of course I am”, he said chuckling slightly. “You can’t get rid of me that easily.”

I rolled my eyes; good to know he’s still a dork. “So how are you? Is the case over? When are you coming back?”

“Soon sweetheart, I should be home soon. That’s all I can tell you, I’m sorry.”

“I know. I just wish you were here.”

“Me too. I miss you, so fucking much.” I could see how tired he looked even as he smiled; this case must be taking a toll on him. We sat silently for a bit, watching each other. I placed my hand back on the screen, wishing I could touch his face.

He started to say something but before he could, I heard someone yell out “RYAN! GET YOUR ASS OUT HERE!”

“I’m sorry sweetheart, I gotta go. But I swear I’ll be home soon. I love you.”

I could feel myself start to tear up. “I love you too Jack. Stay safe.”

He hit me with one more smile before we disconnected. “Always.”

And he was gone. I knew what I signed up for when he finally told me what he does but it doesn’t get any easier. But I’ll be here, keeping myself busy as I wait.

Wait for my hero to come home.
